Nests, stores and entrances
A nest connects a queen, her local stores and a particular burrow.
A surface entrance belongs to a particular underground nest. Several nests of one species may exist, and several nest areas may lie within a larger underworld. Stores remain physically where they were set down; sharing a species name does not teleport parcels between chambers.
Founding and belonging
The founder's species determines the new nest, not the surface biome. An Aqua foundation in the desert therefore remains an Aqua nest. The burrow may visually reflect the area around its entrance without changing which colony it belongs to.
Abandoned chambers
After a queen dies, a real entrance remains as a place. A new foundation there creates a new nest identity rather than restoring the earlier queen or an invisible old state.
