Fighting and leading a group

One order can begin an encounter; the group must see it through.

A small escort in combat with one member withdrawing

You can begin an encounter yourself or approach it with several slimes. Double-click a reachable opponent to charge. Your slime then follows the target, but further blows remain your own actions. Attack and defence explains how target binding, precise hits and forward momentum work together.

Press [Q] to call nearby kin when you want to act together. A combat group can support its leader and defend members nearby. You still control one individual; the others act autonomously within the group. [Shift]+left-click takes control of another slime of your colony.

Withdrawing

Retreat is a deliberate choice too. Move clearly away from the opponent to release the target. An existing escort follows its leader; [R] releases the group and returns its members to their own tasks. General travel and gathering are covered in Escort and gathering.
